I’m thankful for the amazing people I get to call family. They’re the best.

29

My first thought was tenderloins. Then I decided that would make approximately half of my items food related so I had better try again. But I do love me some tenderloins.

My horses. It’s crazy Pongo has put up with me for over twenty years and has only dumped me a handful of times. I can’t wait until he parades around the farm with E! I’ll be the one falling to the ground, just from another brown horse! :)

My cleaning lady! I’m sure she judges me every time she walks into my house and I’m okay with that.

Day 26

Trying to get caught up on my last day off.
Contacts and glasses. It sure is nice to see clearly!

Day 25

Obviously counting is still hard...

Today I’m thankful for online shopping! Yay for being almost done with Christmas shopping.

My dogs. Even when they figure out how to open the trash can.

Day 22

Mousetraps. [this includes Minkus]
Hopefully he didn’t have any friends staying with him...

Day 21

Surprises. Like when you wear your coat for the first time that year and discover you left something in the pocket last year. Like chapstick. When you can’t find any of it anywhere else. Yeah I’m thankful for chapstick too.

Day 20

Gravel roads.
There’s Something about gravel roads that I just love. Maybe it reminds me to slow down and enjoy the moment.

Day 19

it only took me until now to realize I can’t count! I thought I missed a day, but then saw I did halfway as well as 15. Counting is hard guys.

Anyway...

Today I’m thankful for the Girl Scouts. Without them, I wouldn’t be enjoying their cookies. And I’m sure they do lots of good things for the community. We didn’t have them where I grew up so I’m just over here assuming things.

Day 17

My Dishwasher. I despise doing dishes. Pretty sure we’d be using disposable everything if I had to wash everything by hand!

Saturday, November 17, 2018

16

Deodorant. Do I need to explain!?

Day 15

modern day transportation.
Walking out to the barn to chore in the chilly weather makes me very thankful that we can hop in a (heated) car and get somewhere in no time!

Halfway

I know this makes y’all sad, but we’re on the downhill side of this journey.

Today I’m thankful for small towns and lifelong friends! Not everyone gets you like your hometown friends.

14

Deodorant and dry shampoo.
Helping me get those 5 more minutes of sleep.

13

My pets.
As the little dog barks his head off. At nothing.
I know someday I’ll miss that annoying little bark waking me up in the middle of the night. I’ll miss him running around like a madman. And I’ll miss the way he runs and jumps into bed with me somehow knowing exactly where to land to snuggle into the bend in my knees- where he fits perfectly.
Each of them have a place in my heart. Lucky for DJ, I have a big heart. And lots of little nooks and crannies to fill with love for pets.  #crazypetlady

Dozen

Now all I can think of is a bakers dozen... of donut holes. Mmmm

Tonight I’m super thankful for my bed. And now I’m going to go lay in it. Just kidding. I already am.

Day Eleven

College!
Sure I learned stuff from my classes, but what I’m really thankful for is the memories I made (and continue to make) with the people I met!! Memories that turn into traditions.

1/3 of the Way

i just wanna know if anyone else is impressed with me! 10 straight days. Ok enough bragging...

Day 10: my house.

It’s cold out. Luckily we’re able to get in out of the cold and come inside. And if I’m still too cold? All I have to do is poke a button... (not that button you pervs...)

Day 9

Pictures.

I love going back and looking at pictures. I tend to forget the details. Sometimes I forget the event entirely until I run across the pictures, which usually leads to more memories and stories.

Day 8

Friends.
Especially the ones who you don’t see for ages, but when you get together it’s just like old times. Nights like tonight are good for the soul.

Day 7

One week in. 7 straight days of posting. Y’all should be thankful for that!! ;)

Day 7: online shopping.

I thought it was great before having a kid, but let me tell ya...!! I get to spend so much extra time with Ed than if I had to go shopping for everything. I’ve Done the majority of my Christmas shopping online this year and I’m super pumped to be almost halfway done already this year!! Hello time saver!

Day 6

on this Election Day, it makes today’s task pretty easy. I’m so thankful to live in the US where I can vote for who I want. Thanks to all the men and women who have fought for this great country.

Day 5

Number 5 on my list is my job.
Sure I complain about it, but it’s really a pretty good gig. I get to wear whatever I want   The last couple months of my pregnancy it was leggings pretty much every single day. Under normal conditions, jeans and a hoodie. My commute is minimal. I’m talking zero stop lights and minimal turns. I can take gravel when the weathers crappy. I get snow days and late starts when the weather is crappy. I have a boss who I can talk to about any issues that come up and challenges me to get out of my comfort zone. I do research, which my nerdy little heart enjoys. It pays some bills. It provides insurance so DJ can live out his dreams of working with his family. Which was always my dream... #cornyandiknowit

Day 4

day four has me being thankful for my health. Not only that, but the healthcare available now. This fall was incredibly difficult on many friends and family members in terms of their health. It seemed like my prayer list grew daily. Luckily all are in the care of some great doctors and nurses.

Day 3

Weekends!!
I get to sleep in and then get morning snugs with the babe. Sometimes we don’t get out of our jams until noon. Or after. Quit judging.
And today we get to relax and watch football and have some friends over and we get an extra hour of sleep. Oh wait, I’m told that doesn’t happen now that I’m a mom. Girl can hope though...
Here’s to relaxing and recharging!

Day Dos

Shocker here, but I’m eating again! I’m super thankful for pizza. Especially carry out for when we don’t plan ahead and have nothing planned for supper.  No worries, I won’t take the easy way out this early in the game...
Okay day two: music. It blows folks’ minds that I don’t watch TV. I mean I will/do, but rarely. Ma will come up and more times than not, the television will be on the same channel she left it when she left. I’d much rather have the radio (or Pandora or Amazon music) playing. I’m not stuck in the living room. I can go throughout the house and still hear it. Ed and I will have dance parties up and down the hall.  Sometimes that’s the only way I can get the crying to stop!
You know what’s better than the radio?? Live music! I’m going to a show next weekend and am so excited!! Ok I’m done rambling about music. Lucky for y’all, you can’t hear me jamming to Lady A right now!!

30 Days

All right it’s been a couple years, maybe a few- I don’t know I’ve lost track of time, since I have done the 30 thankful days where I share one thing I’m thankful for each day of the month. I thought it would be a great year to do this again and hopefully it will get me back in the swing of writing more often. I’m sure you guys will help keep me accountable each day!
Tonight I’m writing as I stuff my face with nachos, so it only seems right to start the list off with food. Not only food, but the fact that my fridge is full of options for me. All I had to do was go to the store. I mean if I was having to go out and hunt my own stuff I’d have to fight Minkus over whatever he catches...
